Level Up Seminar – Budapest

The second Level Up Seminar took place in Budapest, Hungary, hosted by Subjective Values Foundation.

Designed as an advanced training, the seminar explored how diversity and inclusion can be embedded in artistic youth work and peer coaching practices. Throughout the week, participants engaged in interactive workshops, group discussions, and reflection sessions that encouraged them to examine different perspectives on belonging, intercultural dialogue, and creating safer, more accessible environments for young people.

A key element of the programme was an action learning and planning process, where participants collaborated on practical challenges while strengthening their project management, teamwork, and facilitation skills. By combining theory with hands-on practice, the seminar encouraged participants to develop approaches they can apply within their own local communities.

The programme also addressed topics such as identity, discrimination, mental health, climate anxiety, self-care, and healthy boundaries. Through case studies, participant-led activities, and peer learning, the group fostered an open and supportive learning environment where everyone could contribute their experiences and perspectives.

The Budapest Level Up Seminar reinforced the role of peer coaches as facilitators of inclusive creative processes, equipping participants with new methodologies, practical tools, and renewed motivation to support young people through arts, dialogue, and community engagement.

The project is led by ROOTS & ROUTES Cologne e.V. in partnership with Synergy of Music Theatre (Larissa, Greece), Streetdance Center (Salzburg, Austria), Kaunas Cultural Centre of Various Nations (Kaunas, Lithuania), Subjective Values Foundation (Budapest, Hungary), Empreinte (Lille, France), and Centro di Creazione e Cultura (Florence, Italy).
